Managing sepsis

The parameter panel and rapid turnaround of the ABL800 FLEX are well suited to satisfy several of the protocols outlined in the Severe Sepsis Bundles*. The ABL800 FLEX is available with two key parameters for predicting and managing sepsis – lactate and glucose. Based on Radiometer’s superior sensor technology, both parameters are highly accurate and deliver results quickly.

Sepsis resuscitation bundle, intervention #1
Measure serum lactate within 6 hours of the patient’s presentation to the emergency department.

Sepsis management bundle, intervention #4
Monitor glucose 30-60 minutes following initial stabilization of sepsis patient and every 4 hours thereafter.
