Dr. Julie Shaw is Head of the Division of Biochemistry and Director of POCT at the Eastern Ontario Regional Laboratories Association in Ottawa, Canada.
She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Ottawa.
Dr. Julie Shaw chairs the POCT Special Interest Group for the Canadian Society of Clinical Chemists, is chair elect of the ADLM POCT Division and is a member of the IFCC POCT working group.
Dr. Shaw´s research interests are related to quality assurance practices for POCT both in the hospital and in community settings.

Dr. Jessica M. Colón-Franco is the Medical Director of the Special Chemistry Laboratory and the Blood Gas Laboratory at Cleveland Clinic, as well as adjunct faculty at Cleveland State University in Cleveland, OH.
Dr. Colón-Franco provided strategic, clinical, and scientific direction to the laboratories within her section, driving advancements in clinical chemistry and enhancing patient care when she served as Section Head of Clinical Biochemistry. She completed her fellowship training in Clinical Chemistry at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.
Dr. Colón-Franco is a diplomate of the American Board of Clinical Chemistry, a fellow of the ADLM Academy, and an active member of several laboratory medicine associations. She has held various committee roles, including member and current chair of the Latin American Working Group of ADLM's Global Affairs program and chair-elect of the Health Equity & Access Division.
Dr. Colón-Franco’s professional interests center on acute care testing, endocrinology, therapeutic drug monitoring and toxicology, mass spectrometry, neurological and inflammatory biomarkers. Her work continues to focus on improving laboratory practices and advancing clinical chemistry through clinical service, research, and education.
